Privacy Policy
THE COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
The Canadian Glass Association (CGA) values and respects the privacy of its Members including security of personal data. This information will be used strictly for use in the course of CGA activities.
CGA obtains and collects personal information through the following means:
Member associations may be asked on a voluntary basis to supply the Association with information on an annual basis the includes a list of their membership. This information can be updated by the Member association at their discretion, and made available to them for review by contacting the Association office in writing:

The information can be modified, or deleted at the discretion of the Member. Member and non-Member data is primarily stored in the Association’s database, which is housed within the CGA office for security.
WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED?
CGA collects information such as a Members name, address, telephone number, fax number, email address, website address and company name.
CGA occasionally sends out surveys to their membership for the purpose of collecting pertinent industry related information and membership opinions. These responses are considered confidential and at no time are the Members asked to identify themselves. The responses are analyzed and recorded and stored for one year. After one year the files are destroyed (shredded).
HOW DOES CGA USE PERSONAL INFORMATION?
CGA uses personal information to:
- Better understand its Members and improve service delivery and membership benefits;
- To communicate through mailings, faxes, and emails;
- For statistical and research purposes regarding trends within the industry and Members opinions;
- For marketing purposes so it may provide information about product services that may of interest; and
- Provide its newsletter and notices of events and meetings to the membership.
DISCLOSURE
CGA will not disclose personal information without the Member’s consent to any third party. Member email or mailing addresses will not be sold or provided to any outside parties. CGA membership directory has been created in such a way that mailing lists cannot be generated electronically, and Members have the right to remove their name from the membership directory prior to its publication. The request must be made in writing and received by CGA prior to the publication date of the membership directory.
SECURITY AND DESTRUCTION
CGA has a policy of retaining all information for a period of one year. This information is kept in a secured place and the offices are securely locked and alarmed.
After one year information is destroyed by way of shredding and then recycled.
PRIVACY SUPPORT AND UPDATES
From time to time, CGA makes changes to its information practices or alters the functionality of its website. This statement is updated accordingly and CGA encourages its Members to periodically review the website for the latest information on its practices.
